The end of the Journey and the beginning of a new one.
Life is a series of crossroads where you need to make a decision about your life. I have realised that I have reached a crossroads. My journey back is in many ways complete. I have come back, not to the old me, which was the original plan but to the new me. Realising that we are constantly evolving as people means that I can take from my history and accumulated knowledge but I need to be using it to move forward not indulging the past.
The purpose of documenting this journey was to see when I found myself whole again. This week, through conversations and others comments, I have realised that I am happy with who I am. Not perfect and definitely in need of some more humanity but I like where I am in myself. In that sense I am whole again as the frustrations with my limitations is gone. Some of the limitations remain but my frustrations are gone.
For most of my life I have been confused as to who I am at my very core. Music is the centre of me, it is my first love, I think about it all day and every day. My belief system is as a Christian and that has taught me to love people for who they are and to look for the best in them, even if they can’t see it. It is always easier to see others as they are than it is to see ourselves.
My next journey starts with the recognition that I am a music producer. This is the closest title I can give myself for all the skills I have acquired over the years. I have a big picture mind that hears a song before it is created and then I try to create it as closely to what is in my head as I can.
So this blog is going to be focussed on music production and all the aspects of achieving that. How I get the ideas and then try to be faithful to them, using new and more knowledge, the talented people around me and the technology that is constantly improving.
Let the Journey forward begin.
